Map of the low-emission zone in Ulm

map: Umweltzone in Ulm

On the map both the low-emission zone of Ulm (green) and the low-emission of Neu-Ulm (orange) are shown. The low-emission zone of Ulm lies in between the Danube river and the ring road of the city. Neu-Ulm is a city on the other side of the river. Because it lies in Bavaria rather than Baden-Württemberg, its low-emission zone is not part of the zone of Ulm. Please be aware that the yellow and green emissions stickers are both allowed in Neu-Ulm, but that in Ulm the green sticker is required.

Exceptions

There are no exceptions such as roads which you can use to pass through the low-emission zone in Ulm. This means that you also need an emissions sticker on the B10, the B19 and the B28. On the A7 and the A8 an emissions sticker is not necessary. These highways lie outside the low-emission zone.

Parking outside the low-emission zone

The low-emission zone of Ulm is rather large, which makes it difficult to park outside the zone and then reach the city center. Because the low-emission zone of Neu-Ulm is much smaller, we recommend you park in this city. If you only want to reach the city center of Ulm, you can even reach it on foot if you park at the local swimming pool of Neu-Ulm. The swimming pool also lies outside the low-emission zone of Neu-Ulm and from here you can walk to the famous Munster of Ulm in about 20 minutes.

Which emissions sticker do you need in Ulm?

The green emissions sticker

In Ulm the green emissions sticker is required. If your vehicle has a yellow sticker, which is still allowed in Neu-Ulm south of the Danube, you will receive the same fine of €100 that you get for not having an emissions sticker at all.

Where to buy the emissions sticker

The German emissions sticker can be purchased at almost all vehicle inspection companies in Germany, such as TÜV and DEKRA. Most large car dealerships will also be able to issue the sticker for you, but gas stations along the highway or tourist information centers will not. Make sure you bring your vehicle registration certificate with you. Ask for an Umweltplakette for your vehicle, which is the common German name for the emissions sticker.
