The low-emission zone of Münster is shown with orange on the map. As you can see, almost the entire historical city center and the streets between the center and the train station lie within the zone. The suburbs and industrial areas of Münster are not part of the low-emission zone. You do not need to worry that you will accidentally drive into a part of the city where an emissions sticker is required. On most intersections, the start of the zone is clearly indicated.

Exceptions

Unlike in some other cities, there are no roads in Münster that you can use to pass through the zone without an emissions sticker. The roads that form the border of the zone however, such as the B54, are not part of it. Also the Bahnhofstraße and the parking garage close to the station lie just outside the low-emission zone.

Parking outside the low-emission zone

The low-emission zone of Münster is not very large. If you do not have an emissions sticker and want to visit the historical city center, it is easy enough to park outside the zone. Your best option is the Schlossplatz (A on the map) just in front of the university where you will find about 1000 parking spaces. From the Schlossplatz you can walk to the city center in about 10 minutes.
