Low-emission zone in Langenfeld
On 1 January 2013, the city of Langenfeld in Nordrhein-Westfalen introduced a low-emission zone. Within this zone, an emissions sticker is required for most motorized vehicles. Map of the low-emission zone in Langenfeld
The low-emission zone of Langenfeld is rather small in comparison to those in larger German cities. On the map above it is shown with orange. Unlike in most other cities, the city center is not part of the low-emission zone. Instead a sticker is only needed in the eastern part of Langenfeld. The Winkelsweg, the A3, the Industriestraße and the Hardt form the borders of the zone, but these roads themselves are not part of it. This means that if you pass Langenfeld on the A3, an emissions sticker is necessary.
Parking outside the low-emission zone
If you need to be in the low-emission zone of Langenfeld, for example to visit one of the companies or stores here, it is easy enough to park outside the zone. Simply look for a place to park on the other side of the Winkelsweg, the Industriestraße or the Hardt. At most, you will have to walk 500 meters.
Which emissions sticker do you need in Langenfeld?
As in almost all other low-emission zones in Germany, it is the green emissions sticker which is required in Langenfeld. Without a green emissions sticker or with one the older red or yellow stickers, you risk a fine of €100.
Where can you buy the emissions sticker?
The easiest way to buy your sticker is online. Simply fill out the order form on our website and if your vehicle is eligible, your emissions sticker will be issued within one working day. After that, the sticker will be sent to your home address by mail. The necessary copy of your vehicle registration certificate can be uploaded together with your order. If you are in Germany already and only just found out you need an emissions sticker, you can still take your car to a vehicle inspection company such as DEKRA or TÜV. Most car dealerships can also help you out, but the sticker is not sold at gas stations or tourist information centers. Make sure to bring your vehicle registration certificate and ask for an Umweltplakette, the German name for the emissions sticker.

Langenfeld is one of the most boring cities in all of Germany. There is hardly anything to do. The most important attractions are a church tower from the 19th century and some swamp just outside the city. No wonder that this page is one of the least visited on the entire site.
