Exceptions

In Halle there are no exceptions such as roads which you can use to drive through the low-emission zone without a sticker. Important to know is that on the roads that form the border of the zone, an emissions sticker is not required. This means that you can pass through Halle on the B80 or the Paracelsusstraße without the need for an emissions sticker. On most major intersections, the beginning of the low-emission zone is clearly indicated.

Parking outside the low-emission zone

If you only visit Halle to see the historical city center, you could park outside the low-emission zone and then continue using public transport. There is ample parking opportunity at Wohn-Centrum Lührmann (A on the map) from where you can take a tram or even walk to the center in under 10 minutes. The train station (B) is another possibility, but you may find it more difficult to find an empty parking sport there.

What is there to see and do in Halle?

Halle

Halle, often called Halle (Saale) as to not confuse it with other cities called Halle, is the largest city in the German state of Sachsen-Anhalt. It has a well-preserved medieval city center with a few castles such as the Moritzburg and Burg Giebichenstein. Old towers, churches and beautiful houses are other examples of the medieval architecture of Halle. If you want to see something different, we recommend the Halloren Schokoladenfabrik. This is Germany’s oldest chocolate factory still in operation. Tasting the chocolate is of course possible if you visit the attached museum.
