Balingen is a small city overshadowed by Burg Hohenzollern, a famous castle just northeast of Balingen that is one of the most visited castles in Germany. Balingen itself however, also has a small castle worth seeing. This castle was built in the 13th century and serves as both a museum and a hotel today. In the city center of Balingen you will find a lot of architecture from the 19th century. The 26 meters high waterfall of the Büttenbach just outside the city is another tourist attraction.
